Why Exaviz
The Exaviz Management Platform is the only solution that combines managed PoE switching with general-purpose compute, storage, AI capability, and full white-label support at this price point.

Key Differentiators
Open API, Not a Black Box
Every feature in the dashboard is accessible through a documented REST API. Your software engineers can build automations, custom dashboards, and third-party integrations. With Ubiquiti and TP-Link, you get the management interface they designed and nothing else.
White-Label Without Engineering
A single JSON config file changes the logo, colors, fonts, product name, and support URLs across the entire dashboard. No code changes, no custom builds, no NRE. Your customers see your brand on the login page, in the header, in the help modal, and in the footer. No competitor offers this.
No Cloud Dependency
The Exaviz dashboard runs entirely on the board. No cloud account, no external controller appliance, no subscription fee for basic management. This is critical for government, defense, and air-gapped deployments where cloud connectivity is not permitted or not desired.
What about UniFi cloud management? UniFi requires a cloud account or a separate controller appliance (UniFi Network Application). The Exaviz fleet management runs board-to-board using encrypted peer-to-peer communication. No external infrastructure needed.
Compute + Switching in One Device
The Cruiser is not just a PoE switch. It accepts a Raspberry Pi CM5 compute module (up to 16 GB RAM, quad-core Cortex-A76) with NVMe and SATA storage. Your product can run an NVR, access controller, IoT gateway, or any Linux application alongside the managed PoE switch. No other managed PoE switch on the market offers this.
No Per-Camera Licensing
Synology charges $50 per camera license beyond the initial 2 included. For a 16-camera deployment, that is $700 in license fees alone. Exaviz has no per-camera, per-device, or per-feature licensing. Every feature ships with every board.
NDAA Compliance
Exaviz boards are designed and manufactured without restricted components. For government and defense integrators subject to NDAA Section 889, this eliminates a common sourcing headache.
What About Building Your Own?
You could build your own management dashboard. But even with AI-assisted development, you would need to:
- Reverse-engineer the PoE stream protocol (TPS23861 on Cruiser, IP808AR on Interceptor)
- Parse the DSA switch driver interfaces
- Handle board variant auto-detection across multiple hardware revisions
- Build the fleet discovery and pairing protocol
- Implement TLS certificate management (self-signed, upload, ACME)
- Test on every board variant and hardware revision
We designed and built this hardware. The management software comes from the same team, tested on every board variant, and it works out of the box. One less thing to build. One less thing to maintain.
Total Cost of Ownership
Example: 50-Camera NVR Deployment
| Cost | Exaviz (7x Cruiser) | Ubiquiti (7x USW-Lite-8-PoE) + NVR Server | Synology DVA1622 + PoE Switch |
|---|---|---|---|
| PoE switches | 7 x $149 = $1,043 | 7 x $189 = $1,323 | 7 x $130 (TP-Link) = $910 |
| NVR hardware | Included (CM5 on each board) | Separate server (~$800+) | $300+ (limited to 16 cameras) |
| Camera licenses | $0 | N/A (depends on NVR SW) | 48 x $50 = $2,400 |
| Management software | $0 (included) | $0 (UniFi cloud) | $0 (built-in) |
| Support contract (yr 1) | $750 (optional) | $0 | $0 |
| Total (year 1) | $1,793 | $2,123+ | $3,610+ |
| Year 2+ recurring | $750 (support) | $0 | $0 |
With Exaviz, the compute is on each board. No separate NVR server rack. No per-camera licensing. Distributed processing at each switch location.
These comparisons are based on publicly available pricing as of early 2026. Actual pricing may vary by region and distributor. Exaviz volume discounts reduce the per-board cost further at 50+ units.
Hardware Options
Three Cruiser Variants, One Platform
| Feature | Cruiser ($149) | Cruiser Lite ($119) | Cruiser Keel ($99) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1GbE PoE+ Ports | 8 | 4 | 0 |
| 1GbE Switch Ports | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| 2.5GbE WAN | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| NVMe M.2 | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| SATA | 2x | 2x | 2x |
| WiFi 6 + BLE + Zigbee | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Dual 4K HDMI | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Management Platform | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| NDAA Compliant | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The management platform adapts automatically to the board variant. A Cruiser shows 8 PoE ports. A Keel shows switch ports without PoE controls. No configuration needed.
Hardware Customization for OEMs
Need a lower BOM cost? We can strip the board to exactly what your product needs:
- Remove USB 2.0 ports
- Reduce to single HDMI output
- Fewer switch ports
- Remove ESP32 wireless module
- Remove Qwiic/I2C connectors
- Remove SATA and Molex power connectors
- Custom connectors or pinouts
The less you need, the lower your per-unit cost and power consumption. Custom board variants are free at 500+ units (minimum 100 units).
Future-Proof Compute Modules
When the Raspberry Pi CM5 was released, our Interceptor Carrier Board (originally designed for the CM4) supported it with a driver update. No new board required. We design our carrier boards with forward compatibility in mind. Your investment in the carrier board, enclosure, and software integration carries forward as newer, faster compute modules become available.
